Caring for knitwear
Because knitwear are our best allies during winter, here some tips to preserve their softness and take care of them. Wool, cashmere, mohair, our favorite knits require special attention.
FIRST STEP : WASHING
To care for your knitwear, handwashing is the best way. With lukewarm or cold water. To prevent your knit from pilling, don’t leave to soak for more than a few minutes. Rinse gently and never twist your knit (which may deform it).
If it is indicated on the label care, washing machine is possible. However, be sure to select the Wool program and chose a gentle spin (maximum 600 rpm). You can also slip your knit into a pillowcase or wash bag to not damage it especially by rubbing against the drum. Do not use softeners that can damage delicate fibers.
And then, if your knitwear is pilling, remove them by hand or opt for a razor.
SECOND STEP : DRYING
In order to avoid them deforming, we recommend drying flat, on a towel. Don't forget to fold the sleeves over to avoid them stretching. And never twist your knitwear.
THIRD STEP : IRONING
Mesh and iron don’t mix to well! Iron delicately your knitwear on the reverse side and use press cloth. Put your iron on low setting and use a lot of steam.
Finally, store them flat rather than on a hanger to ensure they retain their shape.
