Fabrics Memo
We are mindful that if the planet is to have a future, it needs protecting. Last year, we launched a plan of ambitious goals and initiatives for 2021-2023 covers five main areas: the eco-friendly product design, the social and environmental traceability, the environmental footprint of transport and packaging, the store design, and the responsible corporate governance. SUNCOO continues its efforts by developing more and more responsible pieces included in the The Future is Now capsule.
This means the main fabric used in the clothing is recycled, organic or sustainable. At SUNCOO, we consider a style to be environmentally responsible if the main fabric is one of these three things.
One area where the fashion industry has a major impact is its use of fabrics that require a lot of space, water and chemicals to grow and process. This classification groups fabrics based on their environmental impact.
At SUNCOO, 27% of our styles currently have eco-friendly designs. We aim to reach at least 50% by the end of 2023.
