What is an eco-friendly design?
This means the main fabric used in the clothing is recycled, organic or sustainable. At Suncoo, we consider a style to be environmentally responsible if the main fabric is one of these three things.
One area where the fashion industry has a major impact is its use of fabrics that require a lot of space, water and chemicals to grow and process. This classification groups fabrics based on their environmental impact.
At Suncoo, 27% of our styles currently have eco-friendly designs. We aim to reach at least 50% by the end of 2023.
And to take things further...
Animal
welfare
We are advocates for animals and keen to promote their welfare. In 2019, we made a commitment to PETA France that we would no longer use real fur. To take this commitment further, we are also limiting our use of leather by developing a vegan leather line. From 2021, leather will never feature on more than 2% of our accessories.
Sustainable
dyes and
inks
To limit our impact on the planet here at Suncoo, we have started using OEKO-TEX-certified dyes and inks in our collections. This external certification proves they do not contain substances that are harmful to the environment or to humans. We aim to introduce more OEKO-TEX items with each new collection.
